Animal Control

Animal Control is in charge of maintaining the City Animal Shelter, along with daily care of captured stray and unwanted animals. Animal Control Officers also answer calls from citizens, handle onsite violations, and remove carcasses from roadways. Animal Control also has an active adoption program to help find homes for several of our captured and unwanted dogs and cats.

CITY OF MEXIA ADOPTED A TAX RATE THAT WILL RAISE MORE TAXES FOR MAINTENANCE AND OPERATIONS THAN LAST YEAR'S TAX RATE.
 
THE TAX RATE WILL EFFECTIVELY BE RAISED 8.29 PERCENT AND WILL RAISE TAXES FOR MAINTENANCE AND OPERATIONS ON A $100,000 HOME BY APPROXIMATELY $9.30.  
 
The City of Mexia Police Department is hosting a NATIONAL NIGHT OUT on Tuesday, October 7, 2014 from 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. at the Mexia City Park located at 600 Glendale, Mexia, TX. The night events consist of free food and drinks, activities for kids, fingerprinting for kids, a free medical screen for the kids, a dunking booth, and other assorted booths.
